Who Was Eligible for This Draw?

This round was intended for candidates in the Express Entry system who had received and accepted a provincial or territorial nomination linked to Express Entry.

A CRS score of 761 alone was not enough to qualify for this PNP-specific round. Candidates also needed to meet the requirements of the Provincial Nominee Program.

The invitations issued in this draw were federal invitations to apply for permanent residence. They should not be confused with an invitation from a province to submit an application for provincial nomination.

Why Are CRS Scores Higher in PNP Draws?

Accepting a provincial nomination through Express Entry provides 600 additional CRS points. This explains why the minimum scores in PNP-specific draws are typically higher than those in many other Express Entry rounds.

The minimum score of 761 in this draw included the nomination points. It should therefore not be compared directly with the cut-off scores for Canadian Experience Class or French-language proficiency draws.

What Does This Result Mean for Applicants?

  • Provincial pathways are worth assessing: A nomination can substantially increase an eligible candidate’s Express Entry score.
  • Each province has different requirements: Occupation, work experience, language ability, education and connections to a province may affect eligibility. Visit our Provincial Nominee Program page to learn more.
  • This cut-off does not predict the next draw: Invitation numbers and minimum CRS scores can change between rounds.
  • An invitation is not permanent residence approval: Invited candidates must submit their application and supporting documents within the stated deadline for assessment.
