Express Entry high-wage occupations list 2026: 186 NOC codes across three wage levels with job offer and Canadian work experience points

Express Entry High-Wage Occupations List 2026: 186 NOC Codes and Points

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has published the official Express Entry high-wage occupations list. Scheduled to take effect on November 3, 2026, the list contains 186 NOC codes and determines which occupations qualify for job offer points (50, 70 or 100) and additional Canadian work experience points (20, 40 or 70). The current list is based on data from 2023 to 2025.

Three Express Entry high-wage occupation levels showing 31, 89 and 66 occupations with their wage thresholds and CRS points

How Are High-Wage Occupations Determined?

  • The benchmark is the median wage of everyone working under the same NOC code in Canada, not your individual salary or specific position. If your occupation is not on the list, a high salary alone does not qualify you.
  • An occupation is considered high-wage if its median wage is at least 1.3 times the median wage benchmark for the overall Canadian workforce.
  • Data comes from the last three years of Job Bank, Labour Force Survey and Census information. Each NOC is assigned the highest level it reached during those three years.
  • If the list changes after you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), whether an occupation moves levels, is removed or is added, the level applicable on your invitation date will continue to apply.

The Three Points Levels

Level Occupational Median Wage Compared With the Benchmark Job Offer Points Additional Canadian Work Experience Points (At Least 12 Months)
Level 1 At least 2 times 100 70
Level 2 At least 1.5 times, but less than 2 times 70 40
Level 3 At least 1.3 times, but less than 1.5 times 50 20

Only one scoring option, a qualifying job offer or eligible Canadian work experience, will be used, whichever provides the higher score. For details, see Express Entry CRS changes from November 3, 2026.

What You Should Do

  • Find the exact NOC code for your current occupation or job offer and check it against this list. A one-digit difference, such as 21231 versus 21234, can mean a 20-point difference.
  • If your occupation is on the list and you have a job offer, review and enter the required job offer information in your Express Entry profile before November 3, 2026. The announced change removing the LMIA requirement for qualifying Express Entry job offers is scheduled to apply from November 3, 2026.
  • If you have at least 12 months of qualifying Canadian work experience in these occupations, the additional points will be calculated automatically when the changes take effect, provided your experience is correctly recorded in your profile.
